APPG Co-Chair visits University of Exeter ahead of COP30
In October, the APPG’s Co-Chair, Steve Race MP, visited the University of Exeter to hear more about its global malnutrition and food insecurity portfolios, with a focus on the impacts of climate change on food and farmers, and how we need to build resilience into the food system, ahead of COP30.
Peers hold debate on use of food as a weapon of war
On 16 October, Baroness Brown of Silvertown, member of the APPG, secured a debate in the House of Lords on the use of starvation as a weapon of war. The date marked World Food Day, a day that commemorates the creation of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in 1945.
APPG members visit Tanzania
In June 2025, the APPG on Nutrition for Development’s Co-Chairs and Vice-Chair visited Tanzania to see first-hand the impact of UK overseas development in treating and preventing malnutrition and to understand the work of national and regional government, scientists, health workers, humanitarian organisations, charities, civil society, local businesses, and local communities.
