The Goal

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Nutrition for Development works to raise the profile of global malnutrition in the UK Parliament and champion solutions to end it, to strengthen cross-party Parliamentary support for UK investment in nutrition and food security, and to support and challenge the UK government to maintain their leadership on global nutrition and food security.

What does the APPG do?

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Nutrition for Development works to support and challenge the UK Government to maintain their leadership on global nutrition.

We do this by:

  • Raising questions about the Government’s global nutrition policy in Parliament.
  • Undertaking site visits to countries where the UK Government supports nutrition programmes and meeting with local actors to understand examples of progress and challenges to meeting nutrition targets.
  • Hosting events in Parliament to raise the profile of nutrition issues.
  • Building alliances with Parliamentarians in other countries.
  • Working with civil society and academia to disseminate policy advice and expertise to Parliamentary colleagues.
  • Producing policy documents and briefings.
  • Engaging with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
